This site gives a book away to read. Reading it asks for nothing. This page lists everything the site collects.
What is collected
- Your email address, only if you leave one. The last section of the home page has one optional field. An address left there is used for one thing: news about this book, such as the day the hard copy is out. The first email only asks you to confirm the address, and no news is sent until you do.
- Page statistics. Google Analytics counts visits and clicks on "Read it online". In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland its storage is switched off by default, so it sets no cookie on your device there.
- A hash of your network address, only when you leave an email. It limits how many addresses one network can sign up. The hash is salted, and the raw address is never stored.
- Nothing else. There is no account. The boxes you can tick under "Start this week" stay in your browser. They are not saved and not sent anywhere.
Who processes it
- Vercel hosts the site and answers every request.
- Turso stores the list of email addresses.
- Resend sends the emails.
- Google provides the page statistics.
Nobody else receives any of it, and none of it is sold.
